Our Story

Learn about how we got started and who we are now.

How we got started.

Our church planted in 2015 with the name of Citylight Benson Church. For a few years we saw God move in powerful ways, people put their faith in Jesus, and a beautiful faith community grow. But, we felt that our church family didn’t reflect the diverse community we were at. In 2018, our founding pastor, Tyler Zach, met Pastor Jamison who was planting a diverse church in Omaha called Forward Church. After meeting, they felt led to bring their leadership teams together to pray if God was desiring to join the two churches together into one unified diverse church. The answer was a resounding YES!

Since 2019, we have been pursuing this vision of seeing every neighborhood, nation, generation transformed by the love of Jesus. After a couple years of unifying as one church, the COVID pandemic, and acknowledging a new chapter in the church's history, in 2022 we changed the church's name to One Hope Church. The name ‘One Hope’ came from the words found in Ephesians 4: "For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all."

Who we are now.

VISION

We want to see every neighborhood, nation, and generation transformed by the love of Jesus.

MISSION

One Hope exists to multiply diverse disciples and churches.

ONE HOPE

We believe that hope changes everything! We want to be a church that speaks hope to church hurt, mental illness, broken families, and those who feel lost. We want to be a community of healing, flourishing, and belonging. We want to be a family that never stops celebrating how the hope of Jesus has changed our lives.

"For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all."
